Peace negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine remain on hold, according to the Kremlin. Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, who attended a meeting in Moscow on November 18, 2025, stated that no new ideas have been floated to move the process forward, confirming that the diplomatic track is currently inactive. This report comes after a 2-minute read summary highlighted that 90 to 100 percent of diplomatic channels remain stagnant.
Addressing questions regarding potential high-level communication, Peskov also clarified that there are no plans in place for a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President-elect Donald Trump. The statement comes as the Kremlin maintains its stance that the conditions for restarting meaningful dialogue have not been met.
