Turkish security sources reported on Monday that the PKK/KCK terror group has completed the evacuation of four shelter areas located in northern Iraq. The sites, identified as Hebat, Yajik, Sabri, and Sason, are situated within the Baze area of the Metina region.
According to an official statement, the evacuation process was finalized by October 8. Security sources described the withdrawal as a component of an ongoing effort aimed at strengthening national solidarity and advancing relations between Turkish and Kurdish populations.
The statement further outlined that upcoming phases of this process will prioritize social reconciliation and the reintegration of PKK members who choose to return to Türkiye under existing laws. To facilitate their transition back into society, authorities plan to implement programs focusing on education and economic support. Officials characterized these actions as a meaningful step toward achieving lasting domestic peace and fostering greater stability across the region.
