NBA legend Paul Pierce recently shared a candid story on his podcast, "The Truth After Dark," regarding a past relationship he ended due to his partner's appearance without makeup. Reflecting on the experience, the former Boston Celtics star admitted he was surprised when he finally saw the woman he had been dating for some time without her cosmetics on. Pierce explained that he had previously believed her appearance was natural, stating that he felt "betrayed" when he saw her without makeup for the first time. He noted that if you always wear makeup with your dude, that’s like cheating on him if he’s never seen you without your makeup, adding, "Cause I don't know who you are now. I thought this was your natural look."
During the conversation with his co-host, Azar Farideh, Pierce remarked that many women possess the skill to apply makeup in a way that looks natural rather than "caked up." However, he expressed strong frustration, comparing the situation to dishonesty. He argued that if a partner consistently wears makeup, never allowing their significant other to see them without it, it feels akin to cheating or lying. Pierce noted that he struggled to reconcile his perception of her with her actual appearance, questioning how she could maintain that level of deception throughout their time together. While he did not reveal the identity of the woman, he confirmed that they are no longer together.
Beyond his personal anecdotes, Pierce has recently been involved in legal proceedings regarding child support. Despite earning approximately $195 million during his 19-year NBA career, Pierce has opposed a request from his ex-girlfriend, Princess Santiago, for $30,000 in monthly child support for their son, King Rafael Santiago Pierce. Pierce contended that he can only afford to pay $4,145 per month, citing a decrease in his income compared to his professional playing days. According to recent court filings, Pierce earns an average of $165,000 per month this year, and he reported receiving $1.5 million from Fox last year. In his defense, he stated that he leads a quiet, stable life and does not drink to excess. Currently, Pierce remains active in the basketball world through appearances on Fox Sports programs and by co-hosting the podcast "No Fouls Given" alongside three-time champion Danny Green.
