A deepening conflict between Lazio supporters and club owner Claudio Lotito has resulted in a dramatic decline in season ticket renewals for the upcoming 2026-27 campaign. Data reported by Il Corriere dello Sport and CalcioEFinanza reveals that only slightly more than 2,000 existing ticket holders chose to renew during the initial phase reserved for them, representing a staggering non-renewal rate of 93.3%.
This widespread refusal to renew is not merely a response to the club's transfer market activity or recent on-field results. Instead, it marks a sustained effort by the fanbase to express deep-seated dissatisfaction with the current ownership. The protest movement gained significant momentum during the second half of last season, characterized initially by silent boycotts during home matches at the Stadio Olimpico.
The dissent escalated following a July 2nd demonstration against the board and a general assembly of supporters held at Rome’s Teatro Manzoni. Organised fan groups have actively encouraged fellow supporters to avoid renewing their seats, suggesting instead that fans should only attend matches when the team plays away from home. These groups have described the decision to give up their Olimpico seats as an act of dissent that is both extreme and rooted in love for the club.
