Five Palestinians were killed and several others wounded in Gaza City following targeted Israeli drone strikes in the regional capital. The fatalities, confirmed by medical sources, were the prelude to a series of late-night air strikes that flattened four residential homes and caused significant damage to dozens of nearby buildings throughout northern and central Gaza.

The later aerial bombardment targeted three homes in Gaza City—specifically within the Shujaiya, Al-17, and Rimal neighbourhoods—as well as a residence belonging to the Al-Buhaysi family in Deir al-Balah. Before the ordnance struck, residents reported receiving sudden evacuation alerts via telephone, an action that triggered widespread panic and forced dozens of families to flee into the streets.

While the four houses were completely levelled and surrounding structures sustained heavy damage, preliminary reports indicated that there were no immediate casualties resulting from the house demolitions. These attacks represent an escalation in what have been described as persistent violations of the regional ceasefire agreement.

According to data from Gaza's Health Ministry, Israeli breaches of the truce have now resulted in the deaths of more than 1,470 Palestinians, with over 5,180 others wounded. Official Palestinian figures indicate that since October 2023, the ongoing war has caused the deaths of more than 74,000 Palestinians, injured over 175,000, and resulted in the destruction of approximately 90 percent of the enclave's infrastructure.
