Duchess Meghan celebrated her 45th birthday on Tuesday, August 4, by sharing a personal update with her followers. The mother-of-two took to Instagram to thank fans for their well-wishes, posting two photos of herself plunging into a pool. In the images, she is seen wearing a dark swimsuit and oversized sunglasses, with birthday balloons visible in the background.

Her lifestyle brand, As Ever, also commemorated the milestone by sharing a carousel of images on its own Instagram account. One photo features the duchess in a calm outdoor setting, wearing pale jeans and a blue striped shirt, while another shows a nostalgic childhood image of the duchess sitting cross-legged on a bed with her hair in braids. An additional image depicts an envelope marked with the phrase, "A birthday worth celebrating."

This year’s celebration follows a similar tribute last year for her 44th birthday, when the brand shared a black-and-white outdoor photo of the duchess. Established in the spring of 2025, As Ever has spent recent months promoting products such as blackberry spread and lavender honey. Reflecting on challenging times, the duchess shared a sentiment from her husband, Prince Harry, noting, "If there's a storm happening, above the storm, the sun's always shining."

The birthday tributes coincided with a serious public statement issued by the royal couple. Meghan and Prince Harry directed criticism toward Big Tech, specifically targeting Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI. The couple condemned the firm for its efforts to block a Minnesota state ban on AI "nudification" technology, describing the tools as enabling "predatory behavior" against women and children.

The couple’s public activities follow a recent, controversial trip to the United Kingdom, which marked their first reunion with King Charles III and Queen Camilla in four years. This visit was viewed as a step toward reconciliation following the rift that began six years ago when the couple stepped back from senior royal duties and moved to California. Meghan did not accompany Prince Harry for the London portion of his trip, reportedly due to complications regarding security measures and a rescinded invitation for him to stay at Buckingham Palace. Following the brief visit, the Sussexes returned to Meghan’s home state.
