The Indian selection committee has finalized a largely consistent squad for the upcoming Women's Asia Cup 2026, which is slated to take place between late August and mid-September. The roster remains similar to the side selected for the Asian Games, scheduled for September 17 to 22 in Japan. Notably, Yastika Bhatia, who previously scored a century in the Lord's Test, has been left out once again as selectors continue to prioritize the development of 18-year-old wicketkeeper G Kamalini.
The only adjustment from the previous squad is the continued absence of Shreyanka Patil. Patil, who was originally named in the Asian Games squad on June 30 subject to fitness, has not recovered from the ankle ligament injury that prematurely ended her T20 World Cup campaign. Consequently, legspin-bowling allrounder Prema Rawat, who served as an injury replacement during the World Cup, has maintained her position in the lineup for the Asia Cup. The 24-year-old Rawat previously saw limited action, playing one match against South Africa in Manchester where she scored 3 off 2 and conceded 21 runs in two overs without taking a wicket.
While the formal tournament fixtures are yet to be announced, the team is currently managing the absence of four key players—Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, and Richa Ghosh—who are participating in the Hundred in the UK. The full squad for the Asia Cup includes Harmanpreet Kaur as captain, Smriti Mandhana as vice-captain, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Bharti Fulmali, Richa Ghosh, G Kamalini, Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav, Prema Rawat, Arundhati Reddy, Kranti Gaud, Renuka Singh, N Shree Charani, and Nandani Sharma. The selected reserves are Pratika Rawal, Uma Chetry, Vaishnavi Sharma, Sayali Satghare, and Minnu Mani.
