Artem Dovbyk has shed light on his decision to depart Roma for Bologna, noting that the club's clear ambition and the personal involvement of new head coach Domenico Tedesco were the primary drivers behind his choice. The striker, who previously served as a top scorer in La Liga with Girona, described the communication with Tedesco as refreshingly direct throughout the recruitment process.

Reflecting on the move, Dovbyk stated, "I chose Bologna thanks to the sporting directors and also to the coach, Domenico Tedesco." He recalled that the coach asked him a simple, direct question regarding his interest in joining the project, which led to a deeper discussion about the club's goals for the upcoming season. According to Dovbyk, the conversation focused on a project centered on achieving excellent results.

For the forward, the transition offers a chance to move past a challenging tenure in the Italian capital. Bologna has established a reputation for successfully developing attacking talent, and Dovbyk is eager to leverage that environment to regain his peak form. "I know that several strikers who’ve played here have improved a lot," he noted, adding that his goal is to assist the team by scoring as many goals as possible while rediscovering his top condition.

Upon arriving at his new club, the striker was immediately impressed by the atmosphere within the squad. He described the team as a "very united group, almost like a family," where every player fights for one another. Having faced Bologna as an opponent in the past, he acknowledged that they were always difficult to play against, noting that the current squad possesses excellent individual qualities.
