Türkiye’s Communications Director Burhanettin Duran has officially denounced Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for utilizing the United Nations General Assembly podium to level what he termed "baseless accusations" against Türkiye and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. According to Duran, such rhetoric is fundamentally incompatible with the principles of peace, law, and dialogue that the United Nations is intended to represent.
In a formal statement released on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, Duran highlighted the International Criminal Court’s ongoing proceedings against the Israeli leader, which involve an arrest warrant issued over allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the besieged Gaza Strip. Duran argued that Netanyahu’s attempts to target President Erdogan cannot obscure the harsh reality of the humanitarian catastrophe currently unfolding in Gaza or the ongoing international legal proceedings against him.
Duran further asserted that the international community is closely observing these developments, noting that Netanyahu has become "more isolated than ever." He emphasized that under the leadership of President Erdogan, Türkiye remains committed to standing against injustice and oppression. Duran concluded by reaffirming that the nation will continue its efforts to defend the rights of the oppressed, including Palestinian people, while advocating for a more just world and global peace.
