Sturm Graz has initiated an approach to secure the services of Fiorentina defender Luis Balbo. According to insights from Argentine transfer expert Cesar Luis Merlo, the Austrian club has presented a strong proposal to bring the 20-year-old on a loan deal, which would include an option for a permanent transfer at the conclusion of the season.
Balbo, a Venezuela international, currently has four senior caps for his national team. His development path saw him progress through the youth academies at FC Porto and Famalicao before making the move to Fiorentina in January 2024. He was subsequently promoted to the club's senior squad in January 2026 and made his official Serie A debut in April of that same year.
Since his promotion, the left-back has accumulated 10 senior appearances for the Viola. Whether Fiorentina is prepared to release the young talent at this stage remains an open question as the club evaluates the proposal from the Austrian side.
