Princess Eugenie has announced the birth of her third child, a baby girl, delivered at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. The new addition to the family arrived on Monday at 18:20 BST and weighed 6lbs 9oz.
Sharing the news on Instagram, the 36-year-old princess expressed her joy, stating, "Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie." The princess and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are already parents to two sons: August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, born in 2021, and Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, born in 2023. The couple, who married in October 2018, divide their time between Portugal and Ivy Cottage, located on the grounds of Kensington Palace.
Buckingham Palace issued a statement confirming that The King and Queen, along with other members of the Royal Family, were delighted to receive the news. The infant will be the fifth grandchild for the princess’s father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. While the baby will not hold the title of HRH, she is now 15th in line to the throne, placing her ahead of her great-uncle, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh.
The pregnancy was initially made public in May, when the princess shared a photograph of her two sons holding a baby scan. Princess Eugenie is currently a director at the Hauser & Wirth art gallery in Mayfair, while her husband has a professional background in marketing and hospitality. Neither the princess nor her sister are working royals, and they have retained their titles despite the changes to their father's status, which saw him stripped of his royal titles, styles, and honours by King Charles last year following revelations regarding his association with the convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
