The tension boiled over immediately after the final whistle, with cameras capturing a physical altercation between players from both teams. The incident notably involved Leandro Paredes, who was seen shoving Eric Garcia before aggressively pushing Spanish midfielder Gavi to the ground. This sparked a larger fracas involving players and staff from both sides as they attempted to de-escalate the situation.
Taking to social media platform X, Morgan did not hold back in his assessment of the events. He described the behavior of the Argentine players as disgusting, specifically calling out Paredes. He wrote, "Just a bunch of nasty violent thugs, and a disgrace to football. Never been so happy to see a team lose."
