Israeli forces conducted a series of raids across the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, resulting in at least four arrests, including an 86-year-old man and his 57-year-old daughter. The arrests occurred in the town of Tammun, southeast of Tubas, where military patrols searched several homes before withdrawing, according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa. In a separate operation in Nablus, troops raided residential homes and arrested a 68-year-old man. Another individual was detained during a raid in Anata, located northeast of occupied East Jerusalem, and subsequently transported to an undisclosed location.
Further military activity was reported by Wafa across the Bethlehem governorate, with raids occurring in Beit Sahour, Beit Jala, Al-Ubeidiya, Al-Shawawra, and Za’atara. Meanwhile, around Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Israeli troops established checkpoints and implemented movement restrictions that obstructed local Palestinian travel.
Concurrent with these military actions, more than 200 illegal Israeli settlers carried out attacks on the outskirts of Al-Mazraa al-Sharqiya, east of Ramallah. During these incidents, settlers damaged over four vehicles and two homes before local residents intervened to force their departure. Property damage and theft were also reported in Silwad, northeast of Ramallah, where settlers reportedly stole dozens of livestock and vandalized multiple homes.
There are approximately 750,000 Israeli settlers currently residing in 156 illegal settlements and 360 settlement outposts throughout the occupied West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem. While these settlements are classified as illegal under international law, Israel has persisted in their expansion. The occupied West Bank has experienced a significant escalation in military raids, arrests, movement closures, and settler-led violence since October 2023.
