The rivalry between Juventus and Roma in the transfer market has intensified following the unexpected arrival of Zeki Celik at the Allianz Stadium. Celik, who had been a free agent since his contract expired on June 30, appeared set to sign a new agreement with the Giallorossi at the Stadio Olimpico. However, in a move that shocked Roma officials, the player opted to join Juventus instead, despite paperwork for a renewal having been prepared.
Reports now suggest that the Bianconeri's pursuit of talent from the Eternal City is continuing. Juventus is reportedly planning an approach for midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini, who is also currently a free agent following the expiration of his contract at the end of the season. While Pellegrini is actively negotiating a new deal with his current club, Juventus aims to convince him to depart and join their squad.
According to Sport Mediaset, Roma is not prepared to accept these developments passively. Should they successfully finalize the sale of Manu Kone to Manchester United for a reported €60m, the Giallorossi are prepared to retaliate with a transfer bid for Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram.
