Jennifer Eckhart, who previously served as an associate producer at Fox Business Network and later established herself as a podcast host, has died at the age of 36. According to an incident report from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Eckhart’s mother discovered her deceased in the bathroom of her Hobe Sound, Florida, residence on September 19 after traveling to the home and alerting authorities.
A responding deputy noted in the report that Eckhart was found in the bathtub with a significant laceration to the front of her neck, with a folding pocketknife positioned next to her right hand. She was officially pronounced dead at 11:57 a.m. Following the discovery, the Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigations Division and crime scene personnel were dispatched to the property. While the incident report classifies the matter as a death investigation without explicitly stating a cause or manner, TMZ reported that law enforcement sources have ruled the death a suicide.
Eckhart’s career in media included a tenure at Fox, where she began working in 2013. She gained broader public attention in 2020 when she filed a lawsuit against former Fox News anchor Ed Henry. In her legal complaint, Eckhart alleged that Henry had engaged in rape and other sexual misconduct during their time working together at the network. Henry denied these claims, asserting that their relationship was consensual. Following a separate complaint regarding alleged sexual misconduct, Fox News terminated Henry in July 2020 after commissioning an external investigation. Eckhart also pursued claims against the network itself, alleging a failure to protect her and hold Henry accountable; however, a federal court eventually dismissed those claims, determining that Fox was unaware of the alleged conduct.
Following her exit from Fox, Eckhart transitioned into independent media, launching a podcast titled “REINVENTED.” The program focused on personal reinvention and featured guests from the worlds of business, sports, and entertainment who had overcome significant setbacks. The final episode of the series was released in March.
