Maria Bartiromo, a prominent business and political anchor, has departed Fox News Media after more than 12 years with the company. Her exit was announced on Thursday, September 3, with the network stating, “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter." Fox News Media did not provide details on the reasons for her departure or any future plans for Bartiromo.
Bartiromo’s final broadcast of “Mornings with Maria,” her three-hour weekday program on Fox Business Network, aired Thursday morning. Effective Friday, September 4, the show will be renamed “Mornings with FOX Business” and will feature a rotating roster of anchors.
Similarly, her weekly Fox Business show, “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street,” is set to be rebranded as “FBN’s Wall Street” this week. Cheryl Casone will host the program initially, with other anchors taking turns in the position afterward. The show airs weekly on Fridays from 7-7:30 PM/ET.
Fox Business is also planning to unveil a new weekday programming schedule in the coming weeks. Bartiromo’s departure will also affect the weekend schedule on Fox News Channel, where she hosted “Sunday Morning Futures.” Former Republican congressman and Fox News contributor Jason Chaffetz is slated to lead the show this Sunday, with a permanent replacement to be announced at a later date.
Bartiromo joined Fox Business in January 2014, following a distinguished two-decade career at CNBC. She gained recognition as a trailblazer in financial journalism, becoming the first television reporter to broadcast live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange.
Her exit from Fox News Media comes as the White House is actively searching for a new press secretary, following Karoline Leavitt’s departure from the Trump administration.
