The 10th edition of the World Forum officially began in Istanbul, gathering a diverse group of politicians, academics, journalists, athletes, artists, and civil society representatives. Held at the Istanbul Congress Centre, this year’s high-level event is framed by the theme, "A World Without a Center: Who Leads When the Rules Run Out?"
The forum serves as a platform for addressing pressing global challenges and navigating shifting international power dynamics. During the opening day on Friday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivered remarks.
The event’s agenda features nine open sessions and various expert roundtables, focusing on critical topics such as artificial intelligence, energy crises, international law, and global economics. Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz addressed an open session titled "Türkiye: From Regional Power to Multi-Regional Actor," while the head of the National Intelligence Organisation (MIT), Ibrahim Kalin, participated in a panel focused on "Gaza at the Intersection of International Law and Humanitarian Collapse."
Other key discussions scheduled for the forum include the geopolitics of maritime corridors, the American paradox in the international system, the role of middle powers in a multipolar order, post-war Middle East economies, and AI governance. Additionally, expert roundtables will explore security dynamics in the Asia-Pacific, the Russia-Ukraine war, Eurasian integration, and diplomacy across Africa.
Over the past decade, the forum has established itself as a significant venue for dialogue, having hosted 801 speakers across 86 open and 76 closed sessions.
