A 16-year-old Palestinian boy was wounded by live ammunition fired by Israeli forces during a military raid in the town of Bani Naim, located east of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank. According to a statement from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society on Thursday, emergency teams transported the teenager to a hospital for treatment after he was struck in the chest.
Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli occupation forces entered Bani Naim using several military vehicles and opened heavy fire with live ammunition, resulting in the boy's injury. In a separate series of operations, the Prisoners’ Media Office stated that Israeli forces arrested at least 32 Palestinians during widespread raids conducted throughout various cities and towns in the occupied West Bank on Thursday.
The nongovernmental organization noted that the arrests involved home raids, property vandalism, and field interrogations of residents, targeting both young men and several former prisoners. The highest concentration of detentions occurred in the Hebron province, specifically in the town of Beit Ummar, where 13 people were taken into custody. Additional arrests were reported in Bethlehem, Qalqilya, Tubas, Tulkarem, and occupied Jerusalem.
The occupied West Bank has experienced a significant escalation in attacks by Israeli occupation forces and illegal settlers since October 2023. Official Palestinian figures indicate that these ongoing tensions have resulted in 1,179 Palestinian deaths and nearly 13,000 injuries. Furthermore, approximately 24,000 Palestinians have been arrested during this period.
