Galatasaray are reportedly preparing a move for Napoli midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, aiming to lure the Belgian international with a lucrative two-year contract. The 35-year-old, who joined Napoli as a free agent last summer following a long tenure at Manchester City, has reportedly grown frustrated with the club's tactical direction.
De Bruyne’s dissatisfaction dates back to his time under former coach Antonio Conte, whose defensive and negative tactics he openly criticized on several occasions. The arrival of new manager Max Allegri has reportedly failed to alleviate these concerns, leaving the veteran playmaker unhappy with the current setup. This frustration was compounded by a significant injury that sidelined him from October 2025 until March 2026.
Despite his limited playing time—managing only 21 appearances for Napoli in his debut season—De Bruyne maintained a productive output, contributing five goals and four assists. While Napoli officials have maintained that the player remains a key part of their plans, transfer pundit Ekrem Konur suggests that the club might be open to offloading the veteran to remove his salary from their books. Galatasaray are now looking to capitalize on the situation by offering the midfielder a formal path out of Italy.
Although Napoli have been adamant that De Bruyne is under lock and key, he just turned 35 and wouldn’t be too upset to get his salary off their books.
