Fenerbahce has officially launched its pursuit of Rafael Leao, confirming a proposal valued at approximately €40 million including bonuses. The Turkish club signaled the seriousness of their intent by sending director Cihan Kamer to Italy, where he was spotted arriving at Malpensa Airport this evening to progress negotiations.
Despite the interest, AC Milan has remained firm regarding their transfer requirements. The Rossoneri have already informed other interested parties, including Galatasaray and Benfica, that they will strictly entertain permanent transfer deals. The club has explicitly rejected the possibility of any loan agreements that include an obligation to buy, as they require immediate capital to facilitate further squad reinforcements.
Milan is under pressure to generate fresh funds after a busy summer window that has already seen the club invest over €100 million in the signings of Goncalo Ramos and Mario Gila. While negotiations between the two sides are expected to continue, Milan has set a clear asking price of €50 million for Leao, indicating that the player will not be remaining with the Rossoneri as the current transfer cycle progresses.
Sportitalia and Turkish transfer pundit Yagiz Sabuncuoglu both confirm the proposal is going to be set at circa €40m.
Leao would be prepared to sign a contract worth €12m per season, practically double his current salary at San Siro.
