Manchester City has confirmed that the club has reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest for the transfer of 23-year-old midfielder Elliot Anderson. According to reports from UK media, the deal is valued at £116 million, or $155 million. If finalized, this transfer would surpass the £105 million record set three years ago when Arsenal signed Anderson's England teammate, Declan Rice.

Anderson is currently with the England national squad preparing for a last-16 match against Mexico. The player has already completed his medical examination in Kansas City, where the national team is based. Formalities for the transfer are expected to be concluded once the player returns to England and his international duties have ended.

In a statement released on Thursday, Manchester City officially announced the agreement. The club noted that the move's formalities will be completed upon Anderson's return to the country. The statement also extended well wishes to Anderson and the rest of the England squad for their ongoing World Cup campaign, adding that the club looks forward to welcoming the player to Manchester in the near future.
