Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Wednesday that a new legislative proposal, titled the Bill on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Cohesion, has been submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye. The submission follows extensive consultations and reflects a broad consensus aimed at achieving a lasting resolution to the country's security challenges.
In a social media post released after the bill reached the parliament, Erdogan expressed his hope that the legislation will yield positive results. He stated that the initiative is designed to permanently free Türkiye from the threat of terrorism, while simultaneously reinforcing national unity and strengthening the climate of peace and stability throughout the country and the wider region.
The President also extended his gratitude to the various political parties, parliamentary groups, and individual lawmakers who played a role in the preparation and finalization of the proposed legislation. The move marks a significant step in the government's ongoing efforts to address national security concerns through formal legislative action.
