Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das participated in a full-fledged practice session at the DXC Arena, also known as the Marrara Cricket Ground, on Wednesday. This session marked his first training in Australia alongside his teammates after arriving with the second batch of the touring party. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is currently monitoring his condition ahead of the three-day practice match against Cricket Australia XI, scheduled for August 6-8 in Darwin.
BCB chief selector Habibul Bashar expressed relief at the development, noting that Litton completed the drills without any complaints. A final decision regarding his inclusion in the upcoming practice match will be made on the morning of the game. Litton, who suffered a left calf injury during the home ODI series against Australia in June, previously missed the tour of Zimbabwe. While he had no issues with his batting during the Zimbabwe series, the calf injury specifically hindered his ability to perform quick turns and running.
During Wednesday's session, Litton spent significant time in the nets batting before moving on to wicketkeeping drills, showing no visible signs of discomfort. Having missed competitive action due to injury, the experienced batter is expected to use the game to regain match rhythm if declared fit. Pace bowler Hasan Mahmud highlighted the importance of the practice match for the team's overall preparation, emphasizing that it will help the squad adapt to the local pitch conditions, pace, and extra bounce.
