Litton Das Joins Bangladesh Squad for Darwin Test

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced that Litton Das has been added to the national squad for the upcoming opening Test in Australia. The 31-year-old, who was recently named the team's white-ball captain, is scheduled to fly to Darwin this Sunday to reunite with his teammates.

Das has been sidelined since June due to a left calf injury. According to the BCB, he has responded positively to his rehabilitation program, clearing him to participate in the first Test, which is set to commence on August 13. His return provides a significant boost to the squad, particularly as the team faces challenges in its bowling ranks; pace bowler Nahid Rana has been ruled out of the series, and Shoriful Islam will not be available for the opening match. Litton's addition is a significant boost for a squad that has already been depleted in the bowling department.

This tour marks a milestone for Bangladesh, as it is the first time the side has played a Test match on Australian soil in 23 years. Prior to the opening Test, the Asian outfit will play a three-day match against CA XI.
