Valencia has announced the signing of 18-year-old Japan international Ryunosuke Sato, securing the attacking talent on a contract that runs until 2031. Born on October 16, 2006, in Nishitokyo, Tokyo, Sato moves to Mestalla to bolster the club's offensive options with his technical quality, pace, and agility.
The young forward arrives following a standout performance at FC Tokyo, where he recorded six goals and six assists in 19 appearances, a display that earned him the J1 League's Best Young Player award. Sato also gained valuable experience during a loan spell at Fagiano Okayama in the 2024/25 campaign, contributing five goals and one assist across 28 appearances.
Sato has been a consistent presence within the Japan national setup, having represented the country at every youth level from Under-16 to Under-23. He made his senior international debut on June 10, 2025, and holds the distinction of being the youngest player in Japanese history to compete in a FIFA World Cup qualifier. His list of international honors includes AFC Asian Cup titles at both the Under-17 and Under-23 levels, as well as an EAFF E-1 Football Championship victory with the senior national team.
