Italian clubs have officially kicked off their summer preparations with a series of pre-season friendly matches, as Genoa, Lecce, and Venezia all secured victories in their respective warm-up tests.
Lecce faced a tough away fixture, travelling to Szombathely to take on Hungarian side FC Haladas. The Salentini managed to secure a narrow 1-0 win, thanks to a decisive goal from 19-year-old Hjalte Laerke. It marked the teenager's first goal of the pre-season campaign.
Meanwhile, Daniele De Rossi’s Genoa had to mount a comeback to secure a 2-1 victory over Trento. Genoa fell behind early when Molina reacted quickest to turn in a rebound after Mehic's corner struck the woodwork. However, Genoa responded well, with Lorenzo Colombo converting a penalty before David Puczka scored to complete the turnaround and seal the win.
Venezia also registered a victory, with the Lagunari finding the back of the net multiple times. Matteo Dagasso opened the scoring with a free kick, followed by a header from Bartol Franjic. Captain Gianluca Busio then struck from distance, and new signing Albion Rrahmani also got on the scoresheet to secure the win for his team.
