Overnight Russian strikes across various regions of Ukraine have left at least four people dead and 15 others wounded, according to statements from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In the Odessa region, a missile strike targeting a residential building claimed the lives of two individuals and injured five others. Meanwhile, two additional fatalities and five injuries were reported in the Zaporizhzhia region. President Zelenskyy addressed the casualties on X, stating that those affected are receiving necessary medical care while offering his condolences to the families involved.
The scale of the Russian offensive included more than 130 attack drones and eight missiles. In the Sumy region, 15 guided aerial bombs caused damage to residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, resulting in one injury. Shelling also impacted the Kharkiv region, where three people were injured, and the Chernihiv region, which saw one person wounded. President Zelenskyy emphasized the urgency of the situation, urging state institutions to accelerate the implementation of agreements made at the leaders’ level regarding the support of Ukraine’s defense and resilience.
Conversely, the Russian defence ministry reported on Telegram that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 243 Ukrainian drones across Russian territory, occupied Crimea, and the Azov and Black seas. Moscow claimed its forces executed group strikes on port infrastructure in Odessa, specifically targeting facilities used for unloading fuel and lubricants, which resulted in damage to fuel storage tanks. The ministry further stated that strikes hit two workshops involved in the production and assembly of unmanned aerial vehicles, including a facility for Ukrjet’s UJ-22 medium-range drones, as well as an ammunition warehouse. In the port of Chornomorsk, Russian officials reported that a boat and additional fuel storage tanks intended for the Ukrainian military were also damaged. Independent verification of these claims remains difficult due to the ongoing conflict.
