Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels recently expressed his admiration for Patrick Mahomes, recalling the awe he felt while witnessing the Kansas City Chiefs star’s performance firsthand. During a late October matchup last year, the Commanders traveled to Kansas City hoping to improve their standing. Although Washington managed to keep the score tied at 7-7 during the first half, the game shifted dramatically in the second half as the Chiefs’ offense took control.
Reflecting on the experience during an episode of Season 3 of the Netflix series "Quarterback," Daniels admitted to being stunned by Mahomes' ability to dismantle the Commanders' defense. "How do you find that? He just made up some s***!" Daniels remarked from the sidelines. In a later interview for the documentary, he added, "I appreciate great QB play. It's an art. Patrick Mahomes is good at football." During that game, the Chiefs shut out the Commanders in the second half, with Mahomes throwing three touchdown passes to Kareem Hunt, Travis Kelce, and Rashee Rice.
Beyond his observations of other elite players, the documentary also highlighted Daniels' unique professional arrangement. Unlike most NFL players who hire traditional agencies, Daniels is represented by his mother, Regina Jackson. Reflecting on this dynamic, Daniels noted that his mother fills multiple essential roles, serving as his mom, his business manager, and a certified NFL agent. He emphasized that he trusts her to manage his finances and career because of her professional background in managing money at various companies.
Publicist Denise White, who also appeared in the episode, explained that Jackson pursued her NFLPA agent certification specifically to gain the necessary knowledge to guide her son's career effectively. According to White, this allows Jackson to provide the guidance Daniels needs to focus on his performance on the field while she handles the complexities off the field. The full "Quarterback" series, which also features Joe Burrow, Joe Flacco, and Cam Ward, is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
Jayden Daniels could only be awestruck during his first time watching Patrick Mahomes play.In late October last year, the Washington Commanders visited the Kansas City Chiefs, intending to return to .500 after losses to the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys.
They managed to be competitive in the first half, keeping the game tied at 7 apiece.Unfortunately, it was only downhill from there.
