Cagliari have officially bolstered their squad with the signing of midfielder Jacopo Fazzini from Fiorentina. The deal is structured as a loan for the remainder of the season and includes an option for the Sardinian club to make the move permanent for a total fee of €8 million.
The Sardinians are very active on the transfer market this summer after securing their coach Fabio Pisacane to a new and improved contract. Both Fazzini and Winks landed at the airport today, where they were greeted by media and supporters, then went to complete their medical tests. The club confirmed the transfer in an official statement released this evening.
Fazzini’s path to Cagliari follows a difficult spell at Fiorentina. Originally developed in the Empoli youth academy, the midfielder was sold to the Florence-based club in the summer of 2025 for a fee of €9.3 million. However, he struggled to secure consistent playing time after falling down the pecking order under coach Paolo Vanoli, and he remained surplus to requirements following the arrival of new manager Fabio Grosso.
In addition to Fazzini, Cagliari is also expected to welcome Harry Winks, who is set to join the side from Leicester City. Winks was also seen arriving at the airport alongside Fazzini today to undergo his own medical tests with the club.
