Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that a trilateral meeting involving Kiev, Washington, and Moscow is scheduled to take place in November. The primary objective of this summit is to restart peace negotiations that have remained stalled.
Speaking during an interview with Ukrainian television on Sunday, Zelenskyy expressed his government's readiness to engage in these discussions. He outlined a structure for the talks, stating that issues regarding territory must be addressed at the leadership level, while other matters should be handled by technical groups. He affirmed that all these topics could be discussed within the November timeframe.
This announcement follows remarks made on Friday by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, who indicated that a trilateral meeting was scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates in November.
These developments occur against a backdrop of intensified diplomatic activity by the administration of United States President Donald Trump. U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff met with Zelenskyy and various European leaders in Oslo on Tuesday, before traveling to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday. Following these high-level discussions, both Kiev and Moscow have voiced their readiness to resume direct talks mediated by Washington.
