Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Sunday that a significant government reshuffle is underway, confirming that the country will soon see a new prime minister and a renewed Cabinet of Ministers. Zelenskyy shared the news in a post on X, stating that Ukraine is currently shifting its political strategy.
The President noted that he had consulted with the current Prime Minister, Yuliia Svyrydenko, regarding the transition. “We determined that these changes require a renewal of the Cabinet of Ministers,” Zelenskyy wrote. He expressed gratitude for Svyrydenko’s “clear, steady, and effective work” since her appointment in 2025, as well as her years of service to the country. Zelenskyy confirmed he has offered Svyrydenko the opportunity to lead a new and important area of relations with a key partner, though no specific details regarding the new role or her successor were provided.
Svyrydenko addressed the announcement on social media, expressing pride in her tenure and affirming that she remains ready to continue serving the Ukrainian state. While any cabinet changes in Ukraine require parliamentary approval, the legislature has largely supported Zelenskyy’s agenda since the Russian invasion began in February 2022, and it is not expected to pose significant opposition to these moves.
The announcement follows a period of heightened military activity. Local authorities reported that Russian attacks on the Dnipropetrovsk region in southeastern Ukraine killed at least three people overnight. Additionally, Yaroslav Shanko, the head of the Kherson City Military Administration, confirmed that one person was killed in a separate drone strike on Kherson. Looking ahead, leaders from Ukraine’s “Coalition of the Willing” allies are scheduled to meet in Paris on Monday to discuss strategies for ending the war.
