Earlier on Wednesday, President Donald Trump signaled a forceful approach to the situation, stating that the US would hit Iran "hard." Speaking to Fox News, the President confirmed that the US military response would serve as a direct retaliation for a missile attack against US bases in Jordan. President Trump emphasized the intensity of the intended response, telling the correspondent, "We're going to be hitting them very hard because it's our turn to hit them. They know it's coming."
The President also addressed recent operations involving US-Saudi bombing campaigns against pro-Iranian militias inside Iraq. Trump maintained that these strikes were coordinated with the Iraqi government, despite public condemnation issued by officials in Baghdad. These events follow a previous drone strike that targeted a US-owned liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker in Egypt, an incident that had prompted President Trump to promise a significant response.
