Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy held a meeting with the United States Ambassador to Ankara, Tom Barrack, on Monday to discuss strengthening bilateral ties in the sectors of culture and tourism. The discussions focused on collaborative efforts to boost tourism between the two nations, alongside strategies to protect cultural heritage and prevent the illegal trafficking of historical assets.
Reflecting on the meeting, Minister Ersoy emphasized that the talks were conducted within the framework of the long-standing relationship between Türkiye and the United States. He stated that the two sides comprehensively reviewed their ongoing cooperation in culture and tourism, noting that these areas will remain primary focuses for future joint initiatives.
Ambassador Barrack offered praise for Türkiye’s cultural diversity, historical significance, hospitality, and geographical advantages, all of which he noted play a vital role in bolstering the country’s standing within the global tourism market. The Ambassador also expressed his support for the initiatives led by Minister Ersoy to develop the nation's tourism potential.
