Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has reaffirmed the country's commitment to advancing a more equitable international order while continuing to protect its own national interests and regional stability. In a statement posted on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, Fidan highlighted the intensity of diplomatic efforts undertaken in New York during the recent high-stakes United Nations General Assembly.
Fidan noted that the week's activities underscored the wide reach of Turkish diplomacy and its proactive stance on a variety of global issues. Beyond the engagements led by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, various Turkish institutions and Foreign Ministry officials participated in numerous bilateral meetings and attended several international gatherings.
According to the Foreign Minister, Türkiye has actively contributed to international efforts regarding pressing global challenges, with a particular focus on the situation in Palestine. Other key areas of involvement included food security, climate change, migration, and mediation efforts. Furthermore, Ankara utilized the platform to outline its priorities for the upcoming COP31 climate summit, which the nation is set to host.
Fidan expressed that the significant interest in Ankara’s proposals for the peaceful resolution of crises, as well as the positive reception of Türkiye-led initiatives, confirms the country's expanding diplomatic influence. He concluded by stating that, under the leadership of President Erdogan, the government will continue to work with determination to safeguard national rights while fostering peace and stability throughout the region.
