Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with his Pakistani counterpart, Ishaq Dar, in Istanbul to conduct discussions focused on bilateral ties as well as matters of regional and international significance. While the Turkish foreign ministry released photographs of the encounter, it did not provide additional details regarding the meeting, which diplomatic sources confirmed took place at the ministry’s Istanbul office.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry issued a statement noting that both sides expressed satisfaction regarding the ongoing expansion and strengthening of their bilateral relations across political, economic, security, and cultural domains. The ministers welcomed the progress achieved under the Pakistan–Türkiye High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) and reached an agreement to schedule its next session at an early date.
The two officials also exchanged perspectives on regional and international developments, reaffirming their mutual commitment to continue working closely to promote peace and stability in the region. Furthermore, officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye are scheduled to convene in Istanbul on Monday for the first meeting of their political and defence committee, established under the Mecca defence pact signed earlier this month.
