This win marked a significant turnaround for the Rockets, who had suffered their only loss of the campaign against the same opponents in their season opener. Opting to field first on a surface where pace variations proved highly effective, the Rockets faced an early setback when Mohammad Amir left the field with a hamstring injury just four deliveries into the match.
