"The View" co-host Sunny Hostin is serving as the legal representative for her 24-year-old son, Gabriel Hostin, in a pending legal matter. According to records obtained from New York City, Gabriel Hostin was issued a citation for a trespassing violation on June 16. While the incident did not lead to an arrest, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority filed the citation against him.
Court records confirm that Sunny Hostin, who is a lawyer and shares Gabriel with her husband, Emmanuel Hostin, is officially listed as his attorney. A court appearance for the case is currently set for July 31. In a letter to the prosecutor dated July 13, Sunny Hostin requested that the case be dismissed, emphasizing that her son is a 2025 Harvard University graduate with no prior criminal history or previous involvement with the criminal justice system.
Describing the events leading to the citation, the attorney explained that Gabriel Hostin, an avid runner and former Junior Olympian track athlete, was in the area for training. She stated that he had identified a gravel incline he intended to use for hill repeats. Although there was a "No trespassing" sign at the entry gate, she argued it was not visible to her son as he entered the property. She further noted that she arrived at the scene within minutes of a police officer approaching him.
Sunny Hostin asserted that the responding officer acknowledged the gate should have been closed, which she claims supports her son's belief that the area appeared accessible to the public. She maintained that the incident was an honest mistake rather than an act of criminal intent, arguing that dismissal would prevent unnecessary consequences for a young man she describes as having exceptional character and posing no risk to the community.
