Southern Brave continued their strong start to the Women's Hundred campaign by securing a five-wicket victory over Sunrisers Leeds at Headingley. Chasing a target of 117, the Brave reached their goal with four balls to spare. The chase was stabilized by Jemimah Rodrigues, who remained unbeaten on 42 off 34 balls. Her performance was crucial after the team faced early pressure at 36 for 3, following wickets from Cassidy McCarthy, who finished with 2 for 14, and Danielle Gibson. The early dismissals included Lizelle Lee, Maia Bouchier, and Laura Wolvaardt. Rodrigues rebuilt the innings in a 35-run partnership with Sophie Molineux, who contributed 21 off 17, and later added 39 runs alongside Jodi Grewcock.
Sunrisers Leeds had earlier posted 116 all out, anchored by opener Bryony Smith’s 48 off 34 balls, which included six boundaries and one six. Smith and Annabel Sutherland shared a 57-run stand for the third wicket, but Sarah Glenn triggered a collapse by dismissing Sutherland. Tilly Corteen-Coleman removed Gibson, while Issy Wong claimed 3 for 15 to dismantle the batting order. Deepti Sharma provided a late boost with 23 off 14 balls, but the total proved insufficient against the Brave's composed batting.
In the other fixture, Welsh Fire rebounded from an opening defeat with a commanding 60-run win over MI London. Posting a total of 177 for 4, the Fire were led by Georgia Voll’s 42 off 26 balls, followed by a destructive 79-run fourth-wicket partnership in just 36 balls between Sophie Devine (52 off 29) and Georgia Wareham (43* off 20).
Defending the target, Grace Potts struck early for Welsh Fire, removing Hayley Matthews and Kira Chathli within the first 16 balls, and later dismissing Danni Wyatt-Hodge. Further wickets from Emily Arlott and Sophie Devine left MI London struggling at 50 for 5. Despite a 46-run seventh-wicket stand between Chinelle Henry (30) and Alice Davidson-Richards (18), MI London were eventually bowled out for 117 with eight balls remaining.
