Doha and Paris have jointly called for a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza under agreed ceasefire arrangements and an immediate halt to illegal settlement expansion across the occupied West Bank. The two nations also urged a diplomatic resolution to ongoing regional tensions involving Iran.

These shared positions were formally outlined in a communique released by Qatar's Foreign Ministry following high-level discussions in Doha. Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with French President Emmanuel Macron during Macron's tour of the Gulf region.

Both Qatar and France reaffirmed their strong opposition to any annexation of the occupied West Bank. They demanded an end to illegal Israeli settlement policies and the violence perpetrated by settlers in the area. The communique underscored the urgent need to fully implement the Gaza ceasefire framework, which includes the orderly withdrawal of Israeli armed forces under agreed arrangements, alongside the unhindered and safe delivery of humanitarian assistance throughout the enclave.

Doha and Paris further reiterated their joint commitment to the holding of Palestinian national elections and to achieving a viable two-state solution.

Addressing broader regional stability, Qatar and France condemned Iranian military attacks on regional states. They advocated for a diplomatic framework to ensure the exclusively peaceful character of Tehran's nuclear programme. The two countries urged the immediate restoration of unrestricted, fee-free maritime transit through the strategic Strait of Hormuz, with France commending Qatari diplomatic mediation efforts aimed at de-escalating regional flashpoints.

Regarding Lebanon, the two states endorsed the full implementation of a tripartite framework agreement designed to re-establish Lebanese sovereignty, disarm Hezbollah, and secure a complete Israeli withdrawal. They cautioned against a potential security vacuum once the UN peacekeeping mission concludes its mandate, urging sustained international support for the Lebanese Armed Forces and state institutions.

On Syria, both governments signalled their readiness to back economic recovery and stabilisation initiatives in cooperation with Syrian authorities. Beyond these regional security files, Qatar and France also agreed to deepen their bilateral defence, security, and economic cooperation.
