The 34-year-old was heading toward the dressing room after the match when he crossed paths with the opposing team's staff. The viral footage shows Neymar clearly delighted as his side advanced to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Santos secured a 1-0 win in the second leg of the tie, following a goalless draw in the opening game. Rony scored the decisive goal, which was assisted by Neymar himself. While the former Brazil international played the full 90 minutes in the first leg, he entered the match as a substitute in the second, later celebrating in front of the officials while walking off the pitch.
Addressing his professional future, the 34-year-old noted that he remains uncertain about his next steps. With his contract at Santos set to expire in December, he expressed his intention to honor the shirt until that time. He stated that he is not currently thinking about retirement, nor is he certain about his long-term plans, opting to take things one step at a time until his deal concludes. Earlier this summer, Neymar was linked to a potential move to FC Cincinnati, but he ultimately walked away from those negotiations after the MLS side delayed the process.
Reflecting on his current state, Neymar shared that he feels physically well and is enjoying the regularity of playing again. He expressed that he is very happy to have experienced what he has experienced up to now. He added that he is very grateful to God for what he has given him. Furthermore, the Brazilian star confirmed that he has nothing to complain about his career and has officially retired from international football, confirming he will not be playing for the national team again.
