Napoli are on the verge of finalizing a deal that will see Jesper Lindstrom head to Schalke 04 on a loan agreement. The Denmark international has reached an agreement on personal terms with the German club.
The move follows a difficult period for the winger since his transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023. Napoli acquired the player for €30 million plus add-ons, but he struggled during his debut campaign in Italy, failing to record a goal or assist across 29 competitive appearances.
Following his initial struggles, Lindstrom had loan spells at Everton and Wolfsburg. He is now set for a return to the Bundesliga. It remains unclear whether the agreement with Schalke 04 will include an option to make the move permanent.
The player is currently under contract with the Italian side until June 2028.
