Iran Military Adopts Offensive Doctrine Following Regional Conflicts

The Iranian military has officially transitioned its strategic doctrine from a defensive to an offensive posture, according to a spokesperson for the army. Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia stated on Saturday that this evolution occurred gradually over the course of two recent military engagements, which he referred to as the 12-day and 40-day wars. Speaking to the state news agency IRNA, Akraminia explained that the change in doctrine is now being reflected in the country's military operations, characterized by a shift toward preemptive actions and faster, more expansive responses to external threats.

As part of this new strategic approach, the army has established a specific plan to offer financial rewards for the capture or killing of US military personnel in the event of a ground incursion into Iranian territory. Under this initiative, members of the armed forces or civilians who legally possess hunting weapons would be eligible for a payment of 5 billion tomans, approximately $26,000, for such actions. Akraminia noted that this reward increases to 10 billion tomans, or about $53,000, if the operation is performed by a woman. Additionally, the military has pledged to purchase the weapon used in such an engagement for double its market value, preserve it in a military museum under the individual's name, and provide the participant with a replacement weapon.

Beyond these tactical shifts, Akraminia highlighted what he described as a sharp decline in American influence across the region. He pointed to the emergence of a new defense and security mechanism formed independently of Washington by Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Pakistan. According to the spokesperson, this represents the first regional security framework established without US participation, serving as evidence of a diminishing American position in the region regardless of the mechanism's ultimate effectiveness.
