Hamas has issued a formal accusation against Israel, alleging that the government is deliberately intensifying military strikes across Gaza to undermine understandings reached with international mediators and the US administration. The group stated that these actions are specifically designed to derail the implementation of a ceasefire agreement.
According to a statement released by the Palestinian resistance group on Sunday, ongoing Israeli bombardment since the morning hours has resulted in the deaths of more than 18 Palestinians. The group reported that these strikes have effectively "wiped out" entire families.
Hamas characterized these offensive operations as a "deliberate escalation" by the government of "war criminal Netanyahu," intended to block the progress made toward finalizing the ceasefire. In light of these developments, the group has called upon the mediators and guarantors of the agreement to fulfill their responsibilities by condemning the attacks and exerting immediate pressure on Israel to halt its military operations and comply with the established terms.
Furthermore, the organization described the recent attacks as acts that "amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity," urging the international community to pursue legal action to hold Israeli leaders accountable. Hamas also demanded urgent measures to protect the Palestinian population, who they noted continue to face "the threat of genocide and displacement."
This latest friction follows an announcement on Friday by the Peace Board and US President Donald Trump regarding an agreement to move forward with the next phase of the Gaza ceasefire. While the board stated that Hamas had accepted a detailed roadmap for this process, the Israeli government has not yet issued an official comment on the proposal.
