Juventus executive Giorgio Chiellini has publicly stated that he is not interested in pursuing the role of technical director for the Italy national team. The former defender, who currently serves as the Chief Club Affairs Officer for Juventus, addressed the rumors while arriving at the FIGC headquarters in Rome for a federal meeting on Tuesday morning.
Chiellini had been identified as a potential candidate for the position following the resignations of 28 officials, which occurred on Monday. Addressing the media reports, Chiellini emphasized his satisfaction with his ongoing work at the Allianz Stadium, stating, "I just want to address some recent news from the media. I’m really happy with my role at Juventus, supporting Carnevali and the club now and in the future."
Chiellini, who captained the Azzurri to victory at the 2021 Euros under Roberto Mancini, remains focused on his club duties. Meanwhile, FIGC President Malagò is expected to propose Roberto Mancini as the new head coach for Italy during the ongoing federal meeting.
