A spokeswoman for the Bundeswehr Joint Force Command stated that military police were dispatched to the location, and the matter has since been transferred to local police for further investigation. When asked about the potential origins of the drones, the Bundeswehr declined to comment, and local police have been contacted regarding the incident.
This event follows the recent discovery of an explosive-laden drone at Leipzig/Halle airport, a facility utilized by Nato, the German military, and Antonov Airlines. German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt characterized the situation in an interview with the newspaper Bild on Sunday, noting that Germany has become a regular target of destabilizing attacks. He emphasized that although the country is not at war, it faces daily instances of hybrid warfare.
