Bologna has entered into initial discussions with Fiorentina regarding the acquisition of 25-year-old forward Piccoli. The club is seeking a replacement for Castro, who is set for a €35m move to Roma. According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, while Bologna has expressed a clear preference for a permanent transfer this summer, the negotiations are currently at a preliminary stage.
Piccoli, who moved to the Viola from Cagliari towards the end of the 2025 summer transfer window for a reported fee of €25m, has seen interest from other clubs as well. Genoa previously made an enquiry regarding his availability, though Fiorentina opted not to pursue those discussions further.
During the 2025-26 campaign, the forward recorded four goals in 32 Serie A appearances. He also contributed three goals across 10 outings in the Conference League.
