Bologna have officially secured the signing of 21-year-old midfielder Mikel Amondarain from Estudiantes. The deal is valued at €9 million plus additional bonuses, with the player committing his future to the Stadio Dall’Ara side until June 2031.
Amondarain arrived in Italy last night to undergo medical examinations, which he passed without any issues, allowing him to sign his contract today. The midfielder, a product of the Estudiantes youth academy, recorded four goals and three assists in 24 appearances for the club. Despite significant interest from Nottingham Forest regarding a potential move to the Premier League, Amondarain opted to begin his European career in Serie A with Bologna.
The arrival of Amondarain marks the 17th Argentine player to join Bologna. His signing comes as another Argentine, Santiago Castro, is currently undergoing medical tests ahead of a proposed €35 million move to Roma.
