Atalanta are set to be without forward Kamaldeen Sulemana for a minimum of two months after the player suffered a serious knee injury. The 24-year-old Ghana international was forced to limp off the pitch during a 3-0 friendly victory against Schalke 04 this past Saturday afternoon.

Following medical assessments, the club issued a formal statement confirming that Sulemana has been diagnosed with a Grade II lesion to the collateral medial ligament in his left knee. According to reporting from La Gazzetta dello Sport, this specific injury is expected to keep the forward out of competitive action for approximately two months.

Sulemana joined Atalanta from Southampton in the summer of 2025 in a deal worth €17.5m plus add-ons. Since his arrival, the forward has found it difficult to establish himself, recording three goals and two assists across 37 competitive appearances for the club, with only 12 of those matches coming as a starter.

The player had been looking forward to securing a more prominent role within the squad this season, particularly following the appointment of coach Maurizio Sarri and the team's tactical shift toward a trident attacking formation.
