Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is currently participating in his first training camp with the Atlanta Falcons after signing a one-year contract with the team this past March. To help him adjust to the transition, his wife, Annah, surprised him with a "comfort basket" filled with some of his favorite things before he departed for camp.
Annah shared the gesture on Instagram, posting a photo with the caption, "Training camp is officially here. Sending Tua off with a few of his favorite things to make camp feel a little more like home." The couple, who first met during Tagovailoa’s freshman year at the University of Alabama in 2017, were married in a private ceremony in 2022. They share two children, a son named Ace, born in 2022, and a daughter, Maisey, born in 2023. Following his move to the Falcons, the family reportedly relocated to Atlanta.
On the field, Tagovailoa’s start to training camp has been tempered by a back issue, limiting his participation this week. While he returned to the practice field on Thursday, he did not take part in team drills. Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski addressed the situation, ruling out any long-term concerns for the quarterback. "It’s not long term," Stefanski stated. "He will be back shortly. He’ll be ready to roll." Reports indicate that the former Miami Dolphins quarterback is expected to be back in full flow by the end of the week.
In the meantime, the Falcons have bolstered their quarterback room by signing veteran Cooper Rush. This move provides additional depth while Michael Penix Jr. continues his recovery from ACL surgery.
