Ismael Bennacer has reportedly terminated his contract with AC Milan, a move that clears the way for the Algerian midfielder to join Al-Gharafa SC in the Qatar Stars League. According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, the agreement was reached despite the player's contract originally being scheduled to run until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.
Bennacer first joined the Rossoneri in 2019 and went on to make 178 competitive appearances for the club. He was a vital part of the squad that secured the Scudetto during the 2021-22 season, featuring in 31 league matches that year. However, his standing at San Siro became difficult to maintain following a significant knee injury sustained near the conclusion of the 2022-23 season.
During his time under contract with Milan, Bennacer also spent periods on loan with Marseille in Ligue 1 and Dinamo Zagreb in the Czech top flight. He has not made an appearance for Milan during the 2024-25 campaign, and this contract termination officially ends his long-standing association with the Italian side as he prepares for his next chapter in Qatar.
